It’s been sometime since I’ve last posted. So much has changed and the days have been passing at the speed of light. I hope to start posting more, as it’s an outlet for all that is going on. This blog might be a little different. There will be some style, books, my hamster, outfits, some soap box complaining about the difficulties of managing a team, coffee shops, my progression on going back to school while working full-time, and a little bit about my relationship (at his approval).
Everyone remembers where they were today 12 years ago.
I was in band class, 3rd hour. Some upper classmen were quietly talking about it. The rest of us hadn’t heard yet. Then there was an announcement on the speaker system to the school, we sat in shock and disbelief. After a couple of minutes Mr Booth told us to pull out ‘Tears in Heaven’. He opened the classroom doors so the music will flow into the hallways and classes around us. I think we all played that song with every ounce of compassion and sadness we had.
We all remember the rest of that day as a blur. Seemingly, a nightmarish dream. We relive it every year.
Never forgot those fallen.
Never forget those who took the call.
Never forgot those serving.
Never forget We are Strong and United.
The weekend is finally here. These are some articles I’ve read over the week that are interesting reads. Enjoy!
This girl was suspended from school because her hair was an unrealistic shade of red. I think the schools should focus a bit more on education and security than the red shade of one’s hair.
Bitter Barista Fired – Even though you say something outside of work on your personal time, it can still get you fired. Especially if it is about your work.
Boyfriend’s bald tribute – This article is just sweet. It reminds you that people are caring and loving of each other.
Adoptive Mom’s newborn Photo shoot – This is adorable, I hope people see this and consider doing this for their adoptive children and maybe consider adopting older children.
iWatch – This is interesting to me, being the geek and owner of a number of Apple products. I don’t know if I would get one, I guess it would depend on what it did and the price. It has to be practical for me to justify purchasing it.
Russia Meteoroid hit – If you woke up on friday morning and did not see a meteor or all the windows blow out around you then you are having a good day.
Water marble nails – This looks like something fun to try, when I have a bit of time to do my nails.
A quick 5 minute makeup routine – For the busy or (in my case) lazy person’s quick makeup routine. I would also put on some mascara.
Have a great weekend and relax. Be happy you are alive.
Today has been one of those days. What might go wrong will go wrong. So that of choices that adds the wonderful joys of stress. Such a wonderful thing that is. But all of that aside, when I have a bad day I look at it this way: I am lucky to be safe, I’m not dodging bullets or grenades in a foreign country. At the end of the day I can come home. At the end of a military member deployed they do not get to go home.
So think about that the next time you are having a bad day and think that you can’t make it through.
On the home front I have got to find the motivation to start studying. My first business law test is due by Sunday and I haven’t even started the chapter I’ve been to busy trying to figure out how and if I am going to start a small, we’re talking really small, business next year selling handmade items. Only time will tell if that gets going.
