Outfit – Spring in the North

Spring in Wisconsin, it means you have to be ready for heat, cold, rain, floods, and snow storms.  And no, I’m not joking about the snow storm part, it’s happened before.  I think I carry more extra clothes around in Spring than any other season.  I can go to Lake Michigan in the morning wearing a jacket and pants, then drive out to my in-laws in Muskego and have to change into a skirt and a tank top.  It’s just all around crazy weather.  But it can be a little fun when you get to experience 4 season in one week 🙂

This outfit would be for a normal weekend day (I work all week and have no time to go anywhere. I live for the weekends)maybe start out at home on my balcony listening to the birds and the trains or at a coffee shop watching people be anti-social taping away on their computers.  Then downtown for some grocery shopping and a walk.  And who knows maybe I’ll end my evening at my mom’s, my dad’s or my in-law’s for a bonfire.

Two outfits, sometimes the second outfit is in the car and sometimes I go home in between to change.

Wedding Guest Outfit

This Saturday I will be attending a wedding as a guest.  This is the first time in about 4 years that I’ve been a guest instead of in the wedding party.  So, I get to have the fun of actually picking out what I want to wear and how I want to do my hair!  But, like normally I’ve decided to wait until now, 3 days before, to figure out what I’m going to wear!  This outfit is something that would be fun to wear to the wedding but would probably wouldn’t work since its going to be about 50 degrees.  But that really doesn’t matter much, since the last wedding I stood up in was on New Years Day, there was snow, it was 20 degrees out and we were wearing this dress (but in purple) outside taking pictures for about an hour. I was freezing!

On to the outfit!

Dress | Earrings | Necklace | Bracelets | Heels | Hair | Nails | Rings |Clutch

Hair – I don’t do my hair… at all, so a wedding is a great time for me to splurge and pay to get my hair done.  Hopefully it will look a little like this, but with extensions because my hair is above my shoulders.
Dress – So freakn’ Cute! and it looks comfy but still dressy!
And because I love to go overboard on my fashion boards,  Some ideas of things to take for the night stay after the wedding, plus day after outfit idea

PJs | Sunglasses | Hat | Tunic | Leggings | Shoes | Bag

Ok, I went a little overboard and now I want all of these things from Forever 21!

Motivation to Move

Sitting at the edge of the bed with my shoes on ready to work out. Tying to convince myself to get up and step on the elliptical. In my mind I try to come up with a million other things to do: clean the dishes, play with the cat, start dinner, work on the blog, or start the wash. I have to push that all out of my mind, “It’s only 1 hour, 60 minutes, 1/24 of the day, 1 real house wife’s episode, that’s all the time it will take to get on that elliptical , move your body, get your circulation going and sweat out the stress. Its really not that much time.” I lift myself off the bed, my feet and hands freezing cold and stiff. Step on to the elliptical and turn on the tv. The first movements of my legs and arms feel old and tired. I remind myself if I keep going it will get better. I start watching the tv show and move faster on the machine. By the end of the show I can’t believe how good I feel. My hands and arms are finally skin colored and not purple ish, I can feel my fingers again. My knees feel awesome and my toes, oh my toes, I can wiggle each one and feel them! My whole body has come alive, heart pumping, blood flowing, muscles tensing and relaxing, it feels fantastic. I try to remember this feeling so that tomorrow I’ll jump right on and start working out.

30 or 60 minutes it doesn’t take much time and you will feel alive, your stress will melt away. Either inside or outside in the elements your body will thank you for reminder that you are alive!

Outfit of the week – New Work Dress

I have to admit I’m a little nervous with this post because instead of a fashion board, it’s an outfit that I’m wearing.

The dress is comfy, fits great, and looks professional enough that I can wear it to work…. Once the weather warms up and stays above 35 for more than 2 days.

I was wondering if my husband would ever take the picture.

Pepper and meNow that his picture is being taken, he doesn’t look so happy.

The bracelets I have on are from Pura Vida, I wear these 2 whenever my brother is deployed.  The are very durable, I’ve had them on this time about 3 months straight.

Maybe I’ll do more outfits instead of fashion boards, if it gets warm out.
